This Month's Spotlight on the DMA

About the DMA's New "Recycle Please" Program - Part of the "Green 15"

Concord Litho is a premier supplier and corporate member of the Direct Marketing Association, and we support their new "Recycle Please" initiative, a public education campaign that encourages consumers to recycle their catalogs and direct mail pieces when they're finished reading them. Many member companies are supporting this campaign by printing the "Recycle please" logo on their pieces. We encourage you to visit www.recycleplease.org for more information. And below are two more great resources:

DMA's Free Environmental Planning Tool and

Optional Policy & Vision Statement Generator

Created by DMA’s Committee on Environment and Social Responsibility, this tool is "intended to aid direct marketers in conducting an internal evaluation of environmental practices that affect aspects of the marketing process."

We encourage you to visit the DMA's Environmental Resource Center, a terrific compilation of tools and publications to assist businesses in understanding the environmental issue and continually improve their environmental footprint.

'Come as You Are' to Help Environment: Companies Urged to Just Make an Honest Effort, Instead of Striving for Purity  Interesting article covering AdAge's June 2008 "Green Conference" keynote address by Peter Seligmann, CEO-chairman of Conservation International. He makes the point that companies can't let fear of being accused of "greenwashing" stall their initiatives, and keep them from sharing good news about positive steps. "None of us are pure. None of your brands are pure," he says. "We need an aspiration to be pure. We're not going to achieve that if we wait until we're pure to say something. We're going to be silent. And we can't afford to be silent." Read the article on AdAge here.
